New archiving software from KGS supports process-based visualization of SAP documents.
When Globetrotter Ausrüstung GmbH changed to SAP ERP Retail, this greatly increased the company’s document archiving requirements in terms of the processed volume of documents, the role of documents as a process foundation, as well as processing speed. The Hamburg-based outdoor chain addressed this issue by replacing their old ECM system with KGS ContentServer4Storage, a storage solution that also provides a process-based view on documents.
Nearly all documents at Globetrotter are processed with SAP to some degree. Outbound business correspondence is created in SAP, incoming invoices are immediately scanned and linked to SAP transactions. The KGS DocumentRouter automatically stores documents from various sources to KGS ContentServer4Storage and maps them in SAP based on business cases.
“KGS ContentServer4Storage is able to map ERP-related document archiving processes in a much leaner, more efficient and more integrated manner than any other archive operated in an SAP environment,” says Philip von Melle, Managing Director of Globetrotter. The software acts as middleware between SAP and the storage system.
Another KGS tool Globetrotter introduced to create system copies is KGS Migration4ArchiveLink, an application for easy and targeted data/document migration. It provides the IT team with read access to the entire document inventory, allowing them to run any kind of test scenario in the context of SAP integration testing.
